Fiber Jewelry

My pandemic story is about refitting my back office into a workplace for fabricating mini fiberworks using found objects, intriguing materials and eclectic stitching. I continue to play and add new techniques. Current favorites include sculptural crochet with wire, embroidery, and mini tapestry weaves. Fascinated with combining hard and soft, I experiment with metalsmithing, stitch and clay. I thank you for visiting my shop.

Tapestry #1 is a handwoven tapestry stitched within a copper frame. This mini scale weave is inspired by the work we do in our Improvisational Weave workshops using homemade looms of cardboard and combs. The crude tools help us to avoid the preciousness of traditional technique. The braided cotton cord measures 19 inches end to end. The tapestry pendant including frame is 3.25x2 inches. SOLD
