I've been a practicing fiber artist and teacher for 20 years and am often approached by students who are interested in learning more about my process and studio practice. Recognizing a need for a new form of learning and community, I founded FiberLab in 2015 as a place to expand knowledge, skills and, most importantly, creativity. In FiberLab we embrace the adventurous spirit of making – the play, not worrying about the product, just seeing what happens, and knowing we might use it or we might not.
FiberLab on Patreon engages a broader audience in the freedom of play and self discovery through artmaking. The exclusive vlogs bring you right there with me in the studio. The tutorial videos illuminate hundreds of techniques and relationships develop in the community with the sharing groups and private patron-only page on Discord. Plus, members for 6 months or more will be curated into an online exhibition of work!
Patrons will experience my imagination and knowledge of innovative handwork techniques. Felting, dyeing, shibori, embroidery, tapestry, coiling, rice vessels, surface design, printing, weaving, alternative materials, product reviews and artist interviews are some of the areas we'll be probing.
In exchange, FiberLab on Patreon will allow me to concentrate on teaching, add more time in the studio for R&D, improve the quality of the online content I'll be sharing with patrons and expand our community of creators. I have so much to share with you!
